Fabricio Werdum spoiled Alexander Gustafsson’s heavyweight debut on Saturday at UFC on ESPN 14.

Former champ Werdum (24-9-1 MMA, 12-6 UFC) got his first win since November 2017 when he rejected longtime light heavyweight contender Gustafsson (18-7 MMA, 10-7 UFC) jump in division with a first-round submission victory in the featured matchup, which took place at Flash Forum at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi and aired on ESPN.
