The Tennessee Titans designated running back Derrick Henry to return from Injured Reserve on Wednesday, leaving him one step closer to returning to the field.
From here, Henry will have to be activated from IR and placed back on the 53-man roster at some point, something Tennessee will have 21 days to do.
While Henry will almost certainly be ready to take the field once the playoffs begin, whether that’s next week or in two weeks if the Titans secure a first-round bye, the door is still open for him to return in Week 18.
However, as ideal as it would be to get him some carries for rust purposes, chances are he won’t see the field against the Houston Texans in Week 18, as ESPN’s Dianna Russini reported.
