Deiveson Figueiredo got his title reign off to a strong start on Saturday when he beat Alex Perez in the UFC 255 main event.

After capturing the belt earlier this year, Figueiredo (20-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC) netted his first flyweight title defense with a first-round submission victory over Perez (23-6 MMA, 5-2 UFC) in the headlining bout, which took place at UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
