Twitter reacts to Chargers’ Melvin Gordon’s potential holdout, trade

There’s a good chance that the Chargers could be without their star running back going into the 2019 season and possibly for the long run, too.

Melvin Gordon’s agent has informed the team that he won’t report for training camp without a new contract, and that he’ll demand a trade. Gordon will make $5.6 million in 2019 in the final year of his rookie contract.

The former Wisconsin product has been a key piece in the Bolts’ offense since he came into the league in 2015, but he has struggled to stay on the field for a full 16-game slate. Last year, he missed the final four games of the season, yet he still managed to be efficient.

Gordon had 885 rushing yards, averaged 5.1 yards per carry and had 10 rushing touchdowns. He also added 50 receptions for 490 yards and four more scores.

Many figured that there could be a possibility of Gordon holding out if he didn’t receive a deal but when it became a reality and they found out he would request a trade, social media had an outburst with different opinions on the situation.
