Twitter Reacts to Cathie Wood's Latest Investment Advice

Ark Invest (ARKK) CEO Cathie Wood had plenty to say about the five-year performances of her company's famous innovative ETF funds during a CNBC interview on Tuesday, March 21.

When asked why the firm's flagship fund was so expensive, she responded to criticisms that the fund was still underperforming.

"We have a five-year investment time horizon," she responded,  "and believe me, the last two years this earthquake [...] caused by interest rates put a dagger into our strategy. We believe that we're on the other side of that now."

"That valuation [...] really is a very short-term way of looking at our portfolios--and not the correct way. We are the closest you'll find to a venture capital fund in the public equity markets, except as I just mentioned to you, our companies have huge cash positions[...]," Wood continued in defense of the firm.

Wood's optimism regarding falling interest rates was shared with a few responders on Twitter. One fan of Wood's strategies claimed that once interest rates change, Wood's funds will be back on top.

Wood went on the justify why her innovation funds will succeed in the long term.

"I think it's been better than most when you talk about electric vehicles, you talk about AI, you talk about sequencing technologies, you talk about blockchain technologies. This is where the world is going," she declared. "We think our companies and our stocks are on the right side of change."

But more commenters were skeptical of Wood's predictions.

Others predicted the fate of her funds would cut off her spotlight like commentators in the past.

Despite all the criticism, however, Wood still has her supporters.
