Since the Houston Texans’ game Week 2, much of the focus around the Jacksonville Jaguars has revolved around the trade request of Jalen Ramsey. Following an exchange between Ramsey and Jaguars executive, Tom Coughlin, Ramsey immediately called his agent to request a trade from the team. This immediately caused division between the fans of the Jaguars.
Ramsey recently has been dealing with a lingering back injury that has also turned some fans off, leading many to question his commitment to his teammates. Regardless, it is never a positive when a team trades away arguably their best player; luckily the Jaguars got back the compensation they were looking for.
Ramsey gave Jacksonville some of his best years, being voted to two Pro-Bowls, as well as receiving first-team All-Pro honors in 2017. He certainly is still among the best corners in the NFL. The Jaguars will now have to look for a future replacement, both at corner and as the new face of the franchise.
