Twitter reacts to Bears’ selection of David Montgomery

Ryan Pace did what Ryan Pace does as he once again traded up to land his guy. This time, Pace and the Bears traded with the New England Patriots and moved up from pick #87 to #73 in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft to select Iowa State Running Back David Montgomery.

The ink is barely dry on the draft card presented to former Bears stars Charles Tillman and Olin Kreutz, but reaction and analysis is already pouring in from experts and fans across the Twittersphere.

The reaction is overwhelmingly positive and his newest teammates are already welcoming him with open arms. QB Mitchell Trubisky sent a welcome message and Montgomery cannot wait to get to Halas Hall.

New Bears RB Mike Davis, who Montgomery will compete with for the starting position, is pumped up as well.

In addition to the #87 pick, the Bears will also send their #162 pick (fifth round) and a 2020 fourth-round pick. The Bears also get back the Patriots #205 pick (sixth round).

Do you share the same excitement for the Montgomery selection or are you worried the Bears gave up too much to get him?
