Alexander Volkanovski successfully defended the featherweight title against Max Holloway on Saturday in the UFC 251 co-main event.
Volkanovski (22-1 MMA, 9-0 UFC) extended his sensational winning streak to 19 consecutive fights when he went 2-0 over Holloway (21-6 MMA, 17-6 UFC) with a somewhat controversial split decision victory in the pay-per-view co-headliner, which took place at Flash Forum in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.

In the first fight, Volk disrupted Max constantly. So far, Max is content to counterstrike and is finding openings based on what appears to be Volk's willingness to go to the same attacks from the first fight. Lots of good inside work, too.

Haven’t seen Max Thai march like that since his Lamas fight – a fight I always point to when referencing Max building off his opponent’s offense. It’s like he failed to build within his first fight with Volk but was clearly able to build between fights with how he looks tonight.

I’m sorry but that was not a good decision I had Holloway winning the first 3 rounds. Volkanovski closed the distance and took Round 4 easily, plus win around 5. But I had him losing the fight 3 Rounds to 2. Bad decision in my opinion.
