Twitter reacts, details as Thomas Davis signs with LA Chargers

After being informed he wasn’t in the future plans for the Carolina Panthers, it didn’t take OLB Thomas Davis long to find a new landing spot: the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers desperately needed help at linebacker after Sony Michel and the New England Patriots’ run game demolished the Chargers in the AFC Divisional round. Davis will immediately help stop the bleeding for the Chargers.

Davis adds veteran leadership to the Chargers and won the 2014 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. Davis is an inspirational figure in football, after returning to form following three ACL surgeries. Davis is 35 years old, but still has some mileage left, and proved so after he racked up 78 tackles in 12 games last season. Davis gave his take on the signing:

The financial details of Davis’s deal were not immediately disclosed. Expect the contract to be a one year deal given Davis’s age.

Here’s the list of UGA’s NFL Free Agents.
