After going through two rounds of interviews with five different candidates, the Jets final found their man and named Joe Douglas their new general manager.
Douglas and the Jets came to terms on a six-year deal Friday, but the financials were not yet disclosed. Douglas was the favorite all along to get the job, but it just came down to the financials of the deal as the Jets pushed harder and harder to make sure they landed him after he kept telling them no. Clearly, Christopher Johnson made him an offer he couldn’t refuse.
Jets fans and media members alike seemed impressed with the hire as they praised the team on Twitter.
Clearly, Douglas has some fans among the Jets faithful and media. Now, he has to run a winner if he wants that to continue.
