Twitter fury as viewers claim BBC Christmas Day lineup is 'dreadful'

People have blasted the BBC over the planned schedule during Christmas.

Twitter users started slating the broadcast company's line-up which includes Gavin & Stacey and Disney's Moana.

There is even a special show fronted by Michael McIntyre, as the comedian brings us his festive extravaganza after the Queen's speech, Top of the Pops and a whole host of other classics, reports BirminghamLive.

"This is your Christmas with BBC One. We are so excited," the channel confirmed on social media.

"Excited?," one replied.

The Twitter user added: "With that schedule you should be bloody ashamed. Tired and uninspiring. Too many films and home-made animated repeats of stuff from the last decade."

"Looks like I'll have to talk to loved ones this year," another replied, while a third chipped in, branding it "disappointing".

Others suggested they would instead be watching ITV, Amazon Prime or Netflix.

Charlotte Moore, Director, BBC Content, says: "The BBC has assembled a sensational range of programmes to give viewers a festive season filled with Christmas crackers."

She adds: "We are bringing back some classic favourites with the likes of Gavin & Stacey, Miranda, Scrooge and Dracula! As well as introducing original new shows too.

"Whether you’re a fan of drama, comedy, entertainment or simply want to wallow in the beauty of the natural world, there really is no better place to be than watching the BBC this Christmas.”
