Twitter erupts over Texans’ selection of Alabama State OT Tytus Howard

The Houston Texans drafted Alabama State offensive tackle Tytus Howard with the 23rd overall pick in Round 1 of the 2019 NFL draft Thursday.

Aside from wondering who Howard is and where Alabama State is, other than obviously in Alabama, fans were a little bummed by the pick.

Of course, some of it had to do with the fact that the Philadelphia Eagles swooped in with a trade with the Baltimore Ravens at 22nd overall and took Washington State offensive tackle Andre Dillard, a name folks have been familiar with throughout the mock draft process.

Another element for the exasperation was that the club didn’t trade back, feeling that they could have picked up Howard anyway along with some extra picks.

However, the blue check mark brigade and other football experts saw Howard as a great value pick for Houston.
