Twitter goes down worldwide

Social media site Twitter went down worldwide this evening.

Users trying to tweet were left disappointed after only being able to see an error message.

Over 10,000 reports of the site being down were reported to downdetector.com.

It showed outages across Europe and in North America.

The site eventually was back online around an hour later. No reason has yet been given.

It is the second time in the past fortnight social media users in Wales have encountered problems.

On July 3, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram crashed.
