Twitter has been affected by a major outage with users complaining that they cannot reach the social media site.
The problem appears to be affecting millions of people around the world after it started at about 8.00pm.
It comes just hours after popular social news aggregator Reddit also temporarily crashed.
According to downdetector.com, there are 15,000 separate reports of the Twitter being down - with the number growing by the minute.
The issue is affecting both mobile and desktop devices.
New York and the eastern United States is also severely affected by the technical glitch.
One person said: "Well this was unexpected, Twitter down in AUS. Does anyone know what's going on?"
