Twitter appeared to go down on Wednesday night (February 8) as thousands reported problems with the platform. Users appeared unable to send any tweets.
DownDetector displayed how more than 5,000 people reported outages on the social media platform. Users reported that they were met with a message saying they are over their daily limit. Others said their tweets were going into their drafts and not posting.
75 per cent of reports cited issues with the mobile app, with a further 20 per cent complaining about issues with their website.

Others complained that direct messages are not working with thousands unable to refresh their feeds, according to The Mirror.
Downdetector only reports an incident when the number of problem reports is significantly higher than the typical volume for that time of day.
On DownDetector, one user said: "What’s going on? 30 mins ago I could tweet & now it says it’s going into drafts? Twitter you need to sort this asap!"
Another wrote: "I can’t tweet. They’re all going to drafts. Help" as a third said: "Can anyone post tweets comment re tweet or follow? I’m having issues and can’t do anything."
