Twitter blows up over Texans QB Deshaun Watson’s TD being called a sack

Twitter can be a divisive platform at times, but nothing unites all users like bad calls from NFL officials.

In the latest entry, referee Tony Corrente ruled that Watson’s touchdown pass to receiver DeAndre Hopkins did not count because, as Watson was scrambling to throw for the score, he was in the grasp and was actually sacked.

Twitter was not pleased.

Awful call in Indy where Deshaun Watson gets blown down while a defender really only had his ankle, right before he delivers a touchdown pass to Nuk that ultimately did not count bc of the whistle.

The third-down call eventually forced the Texans to have to settle for a 31-yard field goal as opposed to going ahead 10-7 over the Colts midway through the second quarter in a big AFC South game.
