Twitch streamer Hasan Piker has recently found himself in hot water after viewers noticed what appeared to be a shock collar on his dog in a recent stream. People became suspicious after a clip showed his dog moving off of the bed and yelping after Piker reached for something.
While Piker has denied the accusations, viewers are not entirely convinced by his argument and the controversy has quickly been picked up online as more and more people join the discussion. Other commentators and streamers have analyzed the clip in order to draw their own conclusions and many aren’t buying Hasan’s side of the story.
What happened?
The clip in question comes from a stream on October 7. Amid a political rant, Piker’s dog, Kaya, can be seen moving rather restlessly in the background. Piker seems to lose patience with the dog and his arm then moves off-camera which is followed by a high-pitched yelp before he turns around and tells Kaya to stop.
The streamer, who was recently threatened by right-wing nut-job, Laura Loomer, then reads the chat which accuses him of stressing out the dog to which he claims Kaya is “spoiled” by his mother.

However, some viewers believed there was something more to the clip as they suspected that the yelp could have been the result of a shock from Kaya’s collar. On X and Reddit, people quickly began accusing Piker of using a shock collar on his dog. “I’d always wondered how Hasan Piker managed to keep Kaya so still,” wrote one person, “Now I know and it’s disgusting.”

Even PETA weighed in on the situation, telling The Hollywood Reporter “Hasan Piker has denied using a shock collar on his dog, and we hope that’s true because shock collars are dangerous and downright cruel.”
Hasan Piker denies the accusations
Piker was quick to address the allegations, sarcastically responding, “Yes, I am incredibly abusive, to the not only best trained, but also the best behaving and most spoiled dog on the planet.” He also offered an alternative explanation, claiming that Kaya “clipped herself on something.”
As for the collar, Hasan explained that it has an air tag and vibrator unit but it does not shock, which could well be the case. He addressed the controversy later in the stream as he expressed his suspicion that the drama was coming from “some crazy haters.” He then reiterated that she either “stepped funny” or “clipped her foot on something.”
However, many still weren’t entirely convinced with popular YouTuber, Charlie, AKA Cr1TiKaL, pointing out that it was possible the shock component could have been removed. Piker also doesn’t reveal the brand of the collar which would have allowed people to check for themselves.
