Twin crashes in Victoria claim four lives

Four people are dead after two fatal crashes on opposite sides of Victoria. (AAP)

Four people have died in horror twin crashes in Victoria just 13 hours apart.

Two men were killed in a crash at Chiltern, near Wodonga, at about 9.15pm on Sunday.

The Yarrawonga men, aged 30 and 36, died at the scene near Whistler Track.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the crash.

Two women were killed in a head-on collision on the Western Highway at Laharum, near Horsham, at 10.15am on Monday.

One woman died before emergency services arrived and another could not be saved.

Three other people, including a female toddler, a man in his 30s, and a man in his 60s, were flown to hospitals in Melbourne with serious injuries.

The toddler and the man in his 30s are both in a stable condition, but the other man is in a serious condition, Ambulance Victoria said.

The crashes follow the Christmas Day death of a man at Katunga in north central Victoria after his car and a vehicle towing a caravan collided.
