A man is fighting for life after being stabbed in Twickenham on Friday morning.

Police were called to the knifing shortly before 10am in Queen’s Road and found the man suffering life-threatening injuries.

Paramedics rushed him to hospital and an air ambulance was also called.

Two men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

One of the men was also taken to hospital with a back injury. The other man has been taken into custody.

A Met Police spokesperson said enquiries into the stabbing were ongoing.

The leader of Twickenham Council, Cllr Gareth Roberts, said: “There was a knife related incident in Queen’s Rd #Twickenham this morning.

“Unfortunately an unsubstantiated rumour that the perpetrator is at large is causing fear & distress. I have received assurances from @MPSTwickenham that this is NOT the case”.

Anyone with information about the stabbing is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 2065/18Nov.
