More playgrounds are set to open in Cardiff from next week but some of the biggest ones are still not included in the list.
Last Monday marked the first day the children's play area could re-open as restrictions continue to be lifted in Wales.
But despite often being regarded as the "jewel in the crown" the play area at Roath Park Lake was not on a list of 30 parks in the Welsh capital that were opened.
The popular playgrounds at Llandaff Fields, Victoria Park, and Heath Park are also not on the list of the further 20 that are opening on Monday, July 27.
The closure has not stopped some parents with young children using the play area at Roath Park.
On Friday one park user described seeing around 30 people in the park. He said that after a short time security officers turned up to ask them to leave the play area as it remained closed.
A Cardiff council spokesman said: "Play areas are being opened on phased basis following a safety-first approach and with a view to ensuring that children across the city have some play provision in their local area as quickly as possible.
"Prior to re-opening all equipment and safety surfaces have been checked and changes have been made to help maintain social distancing and minimise risk of transmitting Covid-19 – for example, some swing seats may have been removed to ensure a two-metre distance is maintained."
The council is also urging people who use the play areas to sanitise their hands before, during, and after the trip, keep visits to 30 minutes during busy times, and to only have a maximum of one adult per child in the play area.
