Twelve-year-old hospitalised after collision while on scooter in North Dublin

A 12-year-old was hospitalised after a collision while out on a scooter in North Dublin.

The incident happened in Finglas with the child being "treated with spinal precautions" before being taken to hospital.

The Dublin Fire Brigade have since warned kids and parents to make sure that they use lights and hi-viz equipment when scooting around after dark.

They said: "On Sunday night Firefighter/Paramedics from Finglas treated a 12-year-old patient whose electric scooter was in a collision with a vehicle.

"The patient was treated with spinal precautions and transported to hospital. Lights and Hi-Viz are wise things to have on a scooter after dark."
