Twelve-year-old child seriously injured after crash between bicycle and car

A child cycling has been left with serious injuries after a crash on Saturday night.

The crash happened on Saturday night at around 9.30pm on Pengam Road, in Aberbargoed, Caerphilly .

Police are now appealing for witnesses and dash cash footage regarding the serious road traffic collision between a car and a pedal cycle.

In a statement, Gwent Police said: "The collision involved a blue Vauxhall Astra and as a result the 12-year-old male cyclist received serious injuries.

"The child remains in hospital at this time."

A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said they were called to the crash at 9.23pm last night, adding two people were taken to the Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr .
