The festivities of the Twelfth are almost upon us and despite it being celebrated in Northern Ireland for centuries there are still those who wonder - what is The Field?
Although, the bands practice year-round they still need a breather from the main event. So along with family, friends and supporters they march to a local field in whatever area the parade is taking place in.
Bands and supporters can take a rest in The Field and soak up the atmosphere of the day whilst listening to a number of speeches.
There's usually food and activities to keep the kids entertained, before the march home - and this has become The Field as we know it.
