The Nevermets

10pm, Channel 4
“She is crazy for going out there and doing it … but not bad crazy – good crazy!” That’s a friend of Sarah – the 38-year-old Brit who, after virtually dating Jgoy for two years without ever having seen him in person, is about to meet him for the first time in the Philippines. They are just one fascinating pair followed in this look at long-distance couples, narrated by Dawn French. The countdowns to their unions are undeniably thrilling. Hollie Richardson

Unreported World

7.30pm, Channel 4
Krishnan Guru-Murthy rides the Korean pop wave, which according to his report is estimated to be worth $8bn. In Seoul, he speaks to teenage students at K-pop dance schools, where only 1% make it big, then looks at the darkest side – the country has one of the highest suicide rates in the world. HR

Hidden Treasures of the National Trust

9pm, BBC Two
To the impossibly verdant Stourhead in Wiltshire, with the house’s endless Saltburn-style corridors and magnificent lake. The big news: there may be an old castle hidden under the lawn, which prompts a comradely archaeological dig. A potted history of Country Life magazine provides a pleasant digression. Jack Seale

Sue Perkins: Lost in Thailand

9pm, Channel 5
It’s the last leg of Perkins’s off-the-beaten-track Thai tour, and she begins it by sparring with Muay Thai champion fighter Jade Sirisompan. Then it’s time to end the trip by jamming with traditional Molam musicians, putting a spin on some banging disco tunes. HR

The Young Offenders

9.30pm, BBC One
Peter Foott’s craic-filled, Cork-set comedy continues to follow Conor (Alex Murphy) navigating life after a stint in prison – and this week he’s being forced by his mum to bond with her new partner, Tony, on a fishing trip. Cue some mishaps with maggots and tent poles, followed by a boozy night. HR

Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show

10pm, Sky Comedy
The brutally honest US comic won an Emmy for a comedy special about coming out. This eight-part project cranks up the candour even more as a camera crew shadows his every move. “I’m trying to self-Truman Show myself,” he declares. But how will his friends, parents and lovers feel about being filmed? Graeme Virtue
