The UK rap pioneer Rodney P reflects on the origins of black music in the UK in this fascinating doc on the genre jazz-funk. Crude and at times as heavy as Boris Karloff’s boots, James Whale’s 1931 creation is nevertheless a classic that set the template for countless horrors to come.
