Historian Lucy Worsley continues her penchant for dressing up in period costume with this new documentary special exploring the legacy of the royal photograph. From recreating the Queen’s coronation portrait to delving into the royal ceremonial dress collection and speaking to modern day royal photographers Anwar Hussein and Chris Jackson, Worsley discovers how the royals have cannily adapted to our surveillance- and celebrity-obsessed culture. Barry Jenkins’ heartbreaking drama about black gay masculinity follows a life in three chapters: skinny kid Little becomes lonely, bullied teenager Chiron, who grows into the powerful Black, still wrestling with what, in his world, are necessarily secret desires. It’s a stunning work. Paul Howlett
