Based on the Pulitzer prize-winning historian Jon Meacham’s 2018 bestseller of the same name – foreshadowing Joe Biden’s own recent campaigning platform for “the soul of America” – this documentary traces Meacham’s life and career through key American political moments such as women’s suffrage and civil rights, as well as gaining his insights into the damage wrought by the Trump presidency.
