There are the murky shades of True Detective in this adaptation of Tana French’s revered Dublin Murder Squad novels. This first season takes on the first two books of French’s sextet, each focusing on a detective’s increasingly fraught link to a gruesome crime. We open with the mysterious murder of a young ballerina on an ancient stone altar, and detectives Rob Reilly and Cassie Maddox’s efforts to solve it. This week’s instalment of the series about UK trade is all about cars, meaning factory visits, Ferraris and talk of the future of manufacturing in the UK.
