Secret World of Sound With David Attenborough

Turn up the volume for David Attenborough’s wonderful symphony of nature’s acoustics. The three-part series follows eight animals per episode and is filmed in 4k ultra-high definition with 360-degree sound, for an experience that fully immerses us in the natural world. It starts with buff-tailed bumblebees using the “sonic assault” of their wings to loosen pollen, and that master of silence the great grey owl, whose uneven ears enable it to hear the rustle of voles in the snow. There are also musical performances from whistling and squeaking bottlenose dolphins, tap-dancing kangaroo rats and roaming, roaring lions. Hollie Richardson

Murder, mojitos and an unfeasibly high murder rate? This week’s episode of Death in Paradise ticks all the right boxes with its tragic tale of a newly engaged couple (and their not-entirely-legal cryptomining operation) being torn asunder by … well, death, obviously. In paradise. An electrocuted body is found, and there are three suspects – but they were all together at the time the incident happened. This is Olly Rix’s last season on the drama, so fans will fear for his character Matthew this week, as he struggles to deal with his family’s financial woes – leaving Trixie feeling helpless. No nails are left unbitten and no banter is left unbanted in the penultimate episode of the explosive thriller. Lana (Vicky McClure) finds herself drilling through a filing cabinet in the middle of a kitchen, before delivering a rant about what workplace dreams are made of. Yet another enjoyable working holiday for the man who has found an enviable niche for himself wandering the world on behalf of Channel 5. Fogle travels into remote regions of DR Congo, where he spends time with tribal people and fulfils a lifelong dream of seeing gorillas in the wild. Phil Harrison

Every relationship is hanging by a thread at this point in the Irish dramedy. Shiv wakes up from her night with ex Jack, then heads to work – where her boss is Jack’s pregnant girlfriend. Elsewhere, Caroline and Rory have an eye-popping discussion over breakfast that leads them to open up their relationship. HR

This was Audrey Hepburn’s first Hollywood film – and a star was born. She plays Ann, a European princess on tour but sick and tired of the diplomatic routine. So when in Rome she does a flit and bumps into Gregory Peck’s journalist Joe, who sees a scoop in the making. With both hiding their identities, he joins her as she samples normal life in the Eternal City. William Wyler’s romance uses its locations to fine effect, and Hepburn’s sparky persona works well in tandem with the amiable Peck. Simon Wardell
Bobi Wine: The People’s President (Christopher Sharp, Moses Bwayo, 2022), 11pm, National Geographic
Given added resonance by Alexei Navalny’s death, Christopher Sharp and Moses Bwayo’s bold documentary shows what can happen when the will of the people comes up against tyranny. Bobi Wine is a socially engaged pop star in Uganda who turned his attention to politics. President Yoweri Museveni has had a total grip on power for three decades – but Wine’s charisma and popular appeal threaten his autocratic rule. Cameras follow the brave singer and his team though a presidential campaign disrupted by arrests, state violence and murder. SW
