Ghosts

8.30pm, BBC One

“It only seems like yesterday that they arrived here and we couldn’t wait to get them out!” It’s the finale of the hit comedy – and the captain and co have until the end of the day to convince Alison and Mike not to sell Button House. But with Robin and Pat bickering over the weather presenter they fancy, Kitty accidentally revealing the sex of Alison’s baby and Fanny finding it impossible to be nice to the livings, they have a big job on their hands. We’ll miss this odd bunch. Bring on the Christmas special! Hollie Richardson

Unreported World

7.30pm, Channel 4

Krishnan Guru-Murthy meets Taiwanese civilians who are learning how to fire weapons and save lives as they prepare to defend their country against a potential Chinese invasion. These “preppers”, a growing network of 1.6 million people, are taking it upon themselves to train in urban warfare after Beijing vowed to unify with the self-ruling island – by force if necessary.

Beechgrove Gardens in Winter

7.30pm, BBC Two

Splitting herbaceous plants, protecting your garden from the worst of winter and preparing the lawn for its springtime reveal: there is lots to be done as the weather turns. Scott Smith tends to a yew hedge, while Lizzie Schofield reaps the rewards of the garden she built in summer. A dose of chilly joy. Hannah Verdier

To kick off the 29th (!) series of Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker’s news-swipe series, the hosts are joined by the comedians Jon Richardson and Desiree Burch. World events might be grimmer than ever, but there is always some light relief to be found here. HR

Breeders

10pm, Sky Comedy

Much as they might imagine themselves to be separating, Paul and Ally’s lives are too intertwined to make that easy. In a situation touchingly familiar to many people, they are now effectively parenting Paul’s mum and dad, Jim and Jackie. The chemistry between Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard keeps this comedy easy viewing. Phil Harrison

The Graham Norton Show

10.40pm, BBC One

Following his latest record – The Love Album: Off the Grid – and a one-night-only gig with Giggs at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London this week, Diddy makes himself comfortable on Norton’s couch once more. HR
