TV stars rally around top showbiz agent fighting for life with Covid in Mexico

A host of celebrities are rallying around a top showbiz agent who is fighting for his life in a Mexico hospital with Covid.

A GoFundMe has been set up to raise money for Terry Mills who fell ill on a business trip, last week.

Stars including This Morning’s Alison Hammond, Holby City's Chizzy Akudolu, and EastEnders' Max Bowden, Natalie Cassidy, Gillian Taylforth and Letitia Dean have all donated.

As boss of Big Talent Group, Terry, 38, has worked with some of the biggest stars in the UK for more than two decades, and is well-loved in media and industry circles.

The fundraiser, which was only started on Sunday morning via GoFundMe, has already raised nearly £20,000 towards his treatment.

Organiser Sarah Robertson said: “Our very dear friend Terry is fighting for his life in a hospital in Cancun, Mexico, having been struck with Covid during a business trip which has now developed into pneumonia.

“Insurance will not cover beyond the first 24 hours of care and the hospital have told family and friends if he was to have any chance of survival he had to be induced into a coma and placed on a ventilator for a minimum of ten days, plus recovery care beyond that, and a flight to bring them home to England.

“The cost is astronomical but you can’t put a price on a person’s life and we are at the mercy of the Playa Med Hospital in Cancun. We’ve clubbed together and thrown everything we have at this so far in order to buy Terry a hospital bed where he has been receiving oxygen and antibiotics, but his condition worsened and the doctors said he had to be put on a ventilator if he is to survive this.

“We’re frightened. We want to be there holding Terry's hand but we're not allowed and we need to raise another £100,000 within the next ten days to pay for this life-saving treatment.
