TV star Brendan Courtney and fashion partner Sonya Lennon planning to launch trendy face masks range

TV star Brendan Courtney and his fashion partner Sonya Lennon are planning to launch trendy face masks range.

The Ireland On Call host is teaming up with Dunnes to help people look hip while wearing the coverings.

Brendan, 48, told the Irish Mirror: “Sonia said I think we’ll have to and I feel it makes sense. We were talking about having a pack of five with five shades of lips on them. So you can have a mask with nude lips or pink lips or red lips.”

He also urged people to resist the temptation to go wild as the restrictions are eased.

Brendan said: “If we go hell for leather and there’s a breakout next week, it will be a nightmare.

“They’ve had to reclose Iran and Korea, half of Germany, if we screw this up we’ll be back to where we were a month ago, more business will not come out of it.

“The ripple effect of this is enormous, we still need to batten down the hatches by isolating.”

The Dublin personality and activist said landing his job on Ireland On Call, which guides everyone through the coronavirus crisis, was “nerve-wracking”.

As the final episode aired last night, he added: “I was a bit scared taking on the role, I was literally in the eye of the storm walking into where the press briefings are every day.

“It was extended twice from four weeks to nine, hopefully restrictions will lift and the show won’t be back. Ironically it’s probably one of the proudest things I’ve ever done.”
