TV star Anna Daly hellbent on rearing her brood of boys to respect women

Broadcaster Anna Daly has told how she's hellbent on rearing her brood of boys to respect women.

The Dublin mum-of-three explained: “I think it’s hugely important, you raise them to treat everyone with respect.

“It starts with their own mother, my boys don’t have a sister and won’t have one, but I think if your relationship with them is the first one with a female.

“You need to be that confidant, who’ll guide them in the right direction.

“My mom and mother-in law are key role models too, you just hope you teach them all the right values and kindness and respect for everyone they come across.”

The Ireland am presenter also told how she doesn’t worry about the fate of her job in the wake of Virgin Media One announcing 65 job cuts next month.

The Dubliner who has worked at the station for over a decade said her children’s health and wellbeing is her main priority and she doesn’t "sweat the day job”.

Anna told Dublin Live: “Since I’ve had children I worry about family and the big things.

“I have a job that I really enjoy and I’ve gone on maternity leave three times and have been excited to come back to work three times.

“I would look at friends who wouldn’t be near as excited, dreading their return to work.

“There’s no day that’s the same in TV, for me I don’t sweat the day job stuff.

“Once my children are healthy and well, that’s all that matters.”

Anna is taking to the road this weekend for Ireland Am’s live tour.

The telly favourite explained: “This is Ireland Am in front of an audience, taking the show on the road to Ballygarry House in Tralee.

“We’ll do live links on the morning into the show and at 11am myself and Derek Hartigan will do our last live tease from the hotel because that’s when the show starts.

“The audience will be in place and it’ll be on the main stage, Ireland Am playing out in front of a live audience, I can’t wait.

“It’s a total interactive immersion for the punters who are going.

“We’ll have fashion icon Celia Holman Lee doing fashion, but instead of the models being in studio, we’ll have them weaving their way through the audience enjoying afternoon tea and champagne.”

Anna will be hosting Ireland AM Live this Sunday in The award winning Ballygarry House, Tralee, Co. Kerry. Tickets are on sale on Eventbrite.ie
