TV pundit tips Newcastle United to wreck Liverpool's Premier League title challenge

Newcastle United will play-out a 'little twist' in the Premier League title race between Liverpool and Manchester City, according to Craig Burley.

The former Chelsea midfielder believes that United's clash against Liverpool - currently penciled in for May 5 - may provide the turning point in the race for the title.

Liverpool currently sit top of the league, two points ahead of Manchester City who have a game in hand, but Burley admits he's drawn to the game against the Reds.

Speaking to ESPN, he said: "Every time we look at the Liverpool run in, there’s always one thing that I get drawn to.

"It’s not for footballing reasons, but it’s Newcastle.

"That’s because of Rafa [Benitez]

"He was so successful and had such a special time there, he’s got such a good rapport with the fans, I believe his family still live there.

“His Newcastle team are safe, they’re playing alright.

“There’s a story there somewhere, I don’t think he’s going to say ‘go out there and don’t try today’.

“But I think there could be a little twist there, with Liverpool going to Newcastle ."
