'BLACK LIGHTNING.' Whoa, The CW gets serious with this DC tale of gritty city crime/corruption, a master work from creator-director Salim Akil. Cress Williams plays the superhero/school principal, who quotes the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and Fannie Lou Hamer as "Strange Fruit" plays in the background, laying down a bracing reality to back the superpower fantasy. (Season 2 starts Oct. 9.) $30 DVD/$40 Blu-ray+digital for 13 episodes, Warner.
