TV on DVD: '13 Reasons Why'; 'Gun'

13 REASONS WHY. Netflix's incisive mystery series explores the suicide of a high schooler who leaves behind tapes detailing her experiences. Extras include an 11-minute making-of, plus strong half-hour with source book author/cast/crew/experts delving into the impact of social media, sexual assault and "slut-shaming." (Season 2 due soon.) List price $34 for 13 episodes, out this week from Paramount.

GUN. ABC's 1997 anthology tracks one handgun through different owners, with actors like James Gandolfini, Carrie Fisher, Martin Sheen and Daniel Stern, in tales from directors like Robert Altman and Rockville Centre's Ted Demme; $15 DVD+digital for six episodes, Mill Creek.

PEYTON PLACE: PART 3. Genre-launching prime-time '60s soap aired on ABC twice/thrice weekly, with stars Dorothy Malone, Mia Farrow and Ryan O'Neal, joined here (episodes 65-97, of more than 500) by Mariette Hartley, Leslie Nielsen and Ruth Warrick; $35, Shout. (Part 4 due June 26.)
