It took two days to pick up the courage to pick up the clippers.
But TV news man Marc Mallett is rocking a new hairstyle thanks to expert guidance from his locked-down hairdresser, Michael Quinn.
And now his baby blond is back in place and Marc is delighted.
He said: “My hair is so fine that when it gets long and needs product it looks a real mess and I want to look presentable when I’m working.
“I thought there was no way I’d be able to do it myself so I called Michael to see if he could advise me. He told me to get clippers and for it. But I was nervous I’d end up with a buzz cut or razor burns all over my head.
“So Michael put together a demonstration video and I went for it. It took me two days to pick up the courage.
“I never thought getting a hair cut would be so nerve wracking and when I realised it wasn’t hideous I was pretty relieved.
“So now Michael is sharing his video to help out everyone who needs a little prompt.
“I’m so grateful for the help. I love getting my hair cut at Michael’s and now I’ll never take those visits for granted ever again. I guess life has changed in lots of way. I’ll look after the hair for now but as soon as I get the chance, I’ll be back at the door of my hairdresser.”
And Marc has been given the seal of approval from his award-winning hair dresser.
Michael said: “He did a really good job. It took a few days to encourage him to go for it but he watched the video and he took his time with the clippers.
“I hope the video is a help to anyone else trying to keep on top of things while we can’t open our salons.”
