Lorraine Kelly, who’s practically daytime royalty for many of us, has shared a heartfelt health update straight from her hospital bed — and the response has been nothing short of overwhelming.
The much-loved 65-year-old presenter posted a video on Instagram over the weekend, dressed in a hospital gown and looking surprisingly upbeat considering the circumstances. She told fans with her trademark warmth and honesty: “Just wanted to let you know I’m having a wee procedure today. I’ve not been feeling all that well for a little while, so I had some scans and tests, and I have to have my ovaries and my tubes taken out.”
She was quick to reassure everyone watching, explaining that the operation was purely preventative and being done via keyhole surgery. “It’s incredible,” she added, smiling. “I’m being very well looked after, and I’ll obviously see you really soon, and I’m gonna be totally fine”, reported the Mirror.
The outpouring of love and well-wishes from her ITV family came in thick and fast, showing just how cherished Lorraine is among her colleagues. Dr Amir Khan, always a steady and supportive voice, commented: “Wishing you a speedy recovery – you are the best!”

Good Morning Britain’s Charlotte Hawkins sent her love, while weather presenter Laura Tobin echoed the sentiment, saying: “Take care and wishing you a speedy recovery xx.” Julia Bradbury also chimed in with kind words: “Wishing you a speedy recovery, Lorraine, and good luck with the post op rehab.”
Even over on Loose Women, Katie Piper added her voice to the chorus of care: “Hope you make a speedy recovery.”
Lorraine’s frankness and calm approach to sharing something so personal struck a chord, not just with her colleagues but also with fans who flooded her post with messages of love and support. It’s not often we see such open-hearted honesty from public figures, but Lorraine’s always been known for keeping it real.
For many, she’s been a constant presence on our screens — the comforting voice in the morning, the friendly face we can count on. So naturally, this little bump in the road has people genuinely concerned, but also rallying behind her with typical British spirit. Here’s to hoping she’s back on her feet — and back on our screens — very soon.
