Live International Football
7.30pm, ITV
Scotland’s first meeting with the Auld Enemy since the referendum determined that the two nations are in fact better together. Might this then be a celebration of that happy union? Not likely. The oldest rivalry in football almost always offers up a testy affair, especially when played north of the border. Scotland will be looking for their first home victory over England since 1985, when they scraped a 1-0 win in the short-lived friendly competition the Rous Cup. Gwilym Mumford
The Missing
9pm, BBC1
It’s the halfway point in the harrowing missing-child drama, which continues along two time-frames. In 2006, the investigation into young Oliver’s disappearance is threatened when a key witness mysteriously turns up dead, taking whatever it is they know about his abduction to the morgue. In the present day, Julien decides this suspected murder was important after all and starts digging, though not literally. The pain etched on James Nesbitt’s face has become too much to bear, but he’s so good in this. Julia Raeside
Secrets Of The Castle With Ruth, Peter And Tom
9pm, BBC2
A home makeover show with a difference, as Ruth Goodman, Peter Ginn and Tom Pinfold join a 25-year mission in provincial France to build a medieval castle from scratch, using only tools and materials available at the time. First up, that means following a group of stonemasons as they construct a spiral staircase. Despite the incredible ingenuity employed, there’s much backbreaking labour to be done, making for an illuminating if exhausting hour. Mark Jones
You Can’t Get The Staff
9pm, Channel 4
Sometimes what you really need is a butler with a very specific set of skills, such as coordinating private jets. It’s the last in the series looking at the domestic requirements of the wealthy and, as well as sorting private jets, Sara Vestin Rahmani’s newest member of staff must also get along with her two French bulldogs. Boutique jeweller Anna Trent wants to spend more time running her business, so hires au pair Alessandra to look after the kids. Sadly, the family struggle to adapt to a new person in the household. Bim Adewunmi
Miracle Babies
9pm, Channel 5
Episode three of four following the neonatal team at Liverpool women’s hospital. This week focuses on two severely premature, poorly babies. Oliver needs a bowel operation, while Casper becomes a cause for concern when he stops producing urine. As well as caring for them, consultant Fauzia and co have the sad task of preparing their respective families for the worst. Also featured is mum-to-be Stacey, who must wait until her child is born to find out whether he has a disability. Sensitively done, but a difficult watch nonetheless. Hannah J Davies
The Leftovers
9pm, Sky Atlantic
Final episode of an excellent series, which despite the supernatural presence of a Rapture-style event has told real truths about bereavement and our responses to it. Police Chief Kevin experiences a hallucinatory episode after he and Matt bury Patti’s body. This is as nothing, however, compared to the appalling stunt the Guilty Remnant cult have in store for the town, which elicits a fiery rage from the community. Meanwhile, the arrival of her daughter at the Remnant compound elicits strong feelings in Laurie. David Stubbs
Life Is Toff
10pm, BBC3
Lighthearted doc series charting the growing pains of telly toff Francis Fulford’s brood. This week, Francis attempts to reintegrate the family with the inhabitants of neighbouring Dunsford (which the Fulfords’ forebears once owned) by opening the village show. Cue a day out for his rather reticent progeny Matilda, Arthur, Edmund and Humphrey, and a series of misadventures featuring a shambolic charity stall, plenty of baked beans and one very hungover son. A class act, if only in the comedy stakes. HJD
Imagine – Anselm Kiefer
10.35pm, BBC1
“Who is this fascist who thinks he’s an antifascist?” demanded critic Marcel Broodthaers in 1975 of 24-year-old German art student Anselm Kiefer, who had photographed himself giving a Nazi salute in front of various monuments around France, Switzerland and Italy – and had called the resulting work Occupations. In this edition of Imagine, Alan Yentob joins the painter and sculptor in his studio as he prepares for a Royal Academy retrospective and, in a series of frank interviews, asks Kiefer what drives him on.
