Live Snooker: UK Championship
1pm, British Eurosport

Day three of the UK Championship at the Barbican Centre in York, and action from the third round. Australian Neil Robertson took the 2013 title to go with his World Championship and Masters gongs, becoming the eighth player in snooker history to claim the Triple Crown. Robertson may have already bagged the Wuxi Classic this season, but Ronnie O’Sullivan remains the tipsters’ favourite to pick up the 2014 trophy, having recently reclaimed his Champion of Champions title. Mark Jones

The Great Culture Quiz
7pm, Sky Arts 1

Anita Rani hosts this new quizshow in which two teams representing cultural institutions have their knowledge of the arts put to the test. Tonight, it’s the turn of English National Opera, who are pitted against the West End production of The Mousetrap, competing for a quarter-final place. They’ll be questioned on everything from Beethoven to Breaking Bad, Lady Macbeth to Lady Gaga. They’ll also be tested on just how much they know about their own organisation and its specialism. David Stubbs

Turner Prize 2014
7.30pm, Channel 4

Live from Tate Britain comes the art prize’s 2014 ceremony, with actor Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave) revealing who has won the name-making, game-changing award. This year’s nominees are perhaps slightly more obscure than usual, and include two video artists, James Richards and Duncan Campbell, the former nominated for his film of censored Japanese library books, the latter for his presentation It For Others. Performance artist Tris Vonna-Michell is also up for the award, as is Ciara Phillips for her print workshop exhibition. Rachel Aroesti

The British Property Boom
8pm, Channel 4

Parts of the British housing market are coming to resemble a last chopper out of Saigon scenario, as panicking tenants auction off major organs in the hope of securing a broom cupboard in Catford before the dream of owning property lifts out of reach for ever. Dispatches investigates what this means for buyers and sellers, and visits one of the smallest houses in all of London – just 6ft wide! – which is currently on the market for £235,000. Someone tell Myleene Klass; she’ll think it’s a bargain. Louis Pattison

Wild Weather With Richard Hammond
9pm, BBC1

Wind-wise, 5mph will rustle your Guardian newspaper; 55mph will send your garden shed flying. In Mount Washington, New Hampshire, winds hit hurricane force 100 days of the year – good news if you like the idea of “Hamster” Hammond being carried off by a freak gust in the course of investigations. This begins a larky three-part look at weather, the Top Gear man donning goggles to step into all sorts of wind. Still, along the way, he taps into some interesting forecasting tips. John Robinson

The Walking Dead
9pm, FOX

Another mid-season finale no one asked for arrives, just as season five begins to hit its stride. But here we are, and much like Rick’s group of traumatised survivors, we’d better just accept our lot and get on with it. With flashbacks of their bloody set-to with Gareth and his group of snickering cannibals still likely waking them up in a cold sweat, Rick aims to try to resolve their latest conflict with the hospital-dwelling folk in Atlanta in a peaceful manner. The folk have other ideas. Violent ones, with emotional consequences. Ben Arnold

Most Shocking TV Moments
10pm, Channel 5

For “shocking”, you could equally read “fist-chewingly embarrassing”: among the clips lined up here are Tom Cruise ascending Mount Oprah’s Sofa to bellow his love for Katie Holmes, the Bee Gees unclipping their microphones and leaving Clive Anderson spluttering, and Ollie Reed, pissed as a newt. At three hours long, it leaves no stone unturned in its quest for the ultimate cringe. Making horrified faces as the carnage unfolds, a motley light-entertainment crew including Esther Rantzen, Anne Diamond and Eamonn Holmes. LP

Toast Of London
10.50pm, Channel 4

Jane lands Toast a role in a Hollywood blockbuster and, as you’d expect, he’s tickled pink about the prospect of working with A-lister Max Gland. But things take an unexpected turn involving a stolen dog, a coffin and a curly wig. Meanwhile, Toast learns that ex-wife Ellen is set to get remarried to super-wealthy Devon farmer and crisp manufacturer Stirling Porritch – but a text message from her gives him hope of reconciliation. After a couple of iffy episodes, it appears Toast is pulling it back. BA
