Celebrity chef Simon Rimmer has teased plans for opening a new restaurant in Leeds.
The star, 56, awkwardly let the cat out of the bag on his Channel 4 show Sunday Brunch - which he presents with Tim Lovejoy.
On Sunday's programme, while hosting a segment with restaurateur Nisha Katona he made the announcement, although we don’t think he planned to.
Katona is opening a venue in Leeds as part of her Indian chain Mowgli - which we revealed last month.
She said: “I signed my lease for Leeds yesterday. The Leeds restaurant will be a nice glass box - I love a glass box Simon. I can design that in five minutes.”
She continued and said her new venue will be opening in March.
Rimmer interjected: “We’re going to open in Leeds about the same time then.”
This led to an awkward silence with Katona encouraging Rimmer to say more.
He drew a line under the conversation as he said: “I can never plug my own restaurants Nisha - you know that. Although, if you like really good pizza…”
This was met by lots of laughter on set.
So, we know Rimmer’s new venture will be aiming to serve some of the best pizza in Leeds.
