TV Chef James Martin goes to A&E as fans wish him a 'speedy recovery'

TV Chef James Martin has issued an update on his health as he announced he was taken to A&E this week.

The Saturday Kitchen star revealed he needed to go to hospital to get stitched up - as Birmingham Live report.

The 49-year-old took to Twitter yesterday morning to express his gratitude to the medical team who cared for him following the incident.

He said: "Thanks to the A&E crew for stitching me up …bloody stars literally… thank you."

James did not reveal how the incident happened - but the news prompted concerned messages from the chef's 707k followers hoping he recovers soon.

One user said: "Funny how most people assume you’ve cut your finger. Whatever it is you’ve been stitched up for, get better soon."

Another added: "Oh noooo! That’s not good! Speedy recovery."

A third commented: "Hope you are feeling ok tonight James - maybe a few G and Ts may help the healing process."

A fourth posted: "Don't know what you have done, but hope you are ok. Obviously bad enough to need stitches. Take care and hope you are soon better."

A fifth said: "Oh James…what did you do? Sorry to hear you’ve had a visit to A&E. Hope you are ok and wishing you a speedy recovery xx"

Paul Young, who has regularly appeared as a guest on James Martin's shows, speculated whether the incident happened while the chef was in the kitchen.

The 80's musician said: "Hazard of the job James??"
