Turnpike Lane shooting: Man shot inside takeaway a week after boy, 17, gunned down

A man has been shot inside a London takeaway this evening - just yards from where a 17-year-old was gunned down last week.

The man was reportedly shot inside a Roosters Piri Piri takeaway at Turnpike Lane in North London.

He has been rushed to hospital to be treated for non life threatening injuries.

Police including firearms officers were called to the scene around 8.30pm and discovered the man who was suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was shot just yards from where a 17-year-old was gunned down last week (London 999)

There have been no arrests in relation to the shooting.

The man's age is unknown.

Met Office said in a statement: "Police were called at 20:33hrs on Thursday, 12 December to reports of a shooting on High Road, N22.

"Officers, including firearms officers, attended. A male was found suffering from a gunshot injury.

"He was taken by the London Ambulance Service to an east London hospital; his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The man was shot in Turnpike Lane, North London and has been rushed to hospital to be treated for non life threatening injuries (London 999)

"There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

"A section 60 order has been authorised."

It comes after a 17-year-old was shot near the Turnpike Lane tube station last week and was given CPR by officers inside the same takeaway.
