Turnovers plague Pistons in loss to Bucks

DETROIT _ No deep analysis is necessary for the latest Detroit Pistons loss.

The Milwaukee Bucks turned 16 turnovers into 29 points in the Pistons' 107-104 loss Monday night _ their seventh loss in eight games.

Stanley Johnson scored 16 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter as the Pistons tried to overcome a 15-point deficit. He made four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to lead the Pistons comeback.

But Blake Griffin's 10 turnovers and the Bucks getting two baskets by attacking backup point guard Jose Calderon during the closing minutes at Little Caesars Arena was too much to come back from.

The Pistons had a chance to tie it on the final possession, but Griffin missed two 3-pointers.

Griffin completed an offensive triple-double with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists for the Pistons (14-14). Count the 10 turnovers and he registered a dubious quadruple-double.

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 32 points and former Piston Khris Middleton added 22 points for the Bucks (20-9).

The Pistons (14-14) were 14-for-40 from 3-point range with Reggie Bullock scoring 24 points to lead the Pistons.

Coach Dwane Casey played Calderon the entire fourth quarter, the second straight game with that decision.

After taking a 27-25 lead after the first quarter, the Pistons collapsed in the second.

The Pistons committed five turnovers (Griffin had three) and it seemed as if the Bucks scored in transition after every miscue.

The Bucks shot 62 percent from the field as almost every possession ended at the rim or an attempted 3-pointer (the Bucks were 3-for-6).

The Pistons shot 30 percent and could only manage 16 points while the Bucks scored 30 in the quarter.

Bullock scored the Pistons' first eight points and 10 of the first 12 as they took an early seven-point lead.

But he picked up his second foul at the 6:24 mark of the first quarter.

He added another 3-pointer in the second quarter to finish the first half with 13 points.
