Non-artists (‘Sort-of maybe’ architects win Turner prize, 8 December)? Never! The collective Assemble, and those they have trained, are indeed standing on the shoulders of giants – including the 19th-century artist, craftsman, designer, poet and socialist William Morris, who remarked: “If I were asked to say what is at once the most important production of art and the thing most to be longed for, I should answer, a beautiful home.” All hail to the present bearers of the flame.
