Starfinder: Afterlight swings into early access later this year and boasts a star-studded voice cast, including Baldur’s Gate 3 actors Neil Newbon and James Alexander. Perhaps the most notable addition is that of Roger Clark, who voices the game’s narrator.
Starfinder: Afterlight is a top-down, turn-based RPG set in the Starfinder TTRPG universe, based on the Second Edition rules. During the New Game Plus Showcase, Epictellers Entertainment revealed the first public gameplay demo for this upcoming party-based RPG.
Starfinder: Afterlight launches via early access this year; Steam demo planned as well
The almost-five-minute-long gameplay commentary highlights Starfinder’s space-western setting, dialogue options, combat, and voice cast. As mentioned above, Roger Clark, most notably known for his role as Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2, voices the narrator who accompanies the player character on their journey across the Pact Worlds.
It’s worth noting that this would be Clark’s third major (arguably smaller) video game performance since RDR 2, unless he bragged a role in Grand Theft Auto 6, which is also scheduled to release this year, though a delay is always possible.
Starfinder: Afterlight is a narrative-heavy RPG, and, no doubt, its unique cast of characters will be a key part of the spacefaring adventure. The rest of the cast includes Neil Newbon (Preach), Fred Tatasciore (Kole), Inel Tomlinson (Tycho), Melissa Medina (LU-323), James Alexander (Sterling), and Carolina Ravassa (Captain Khali).
In Starfinder: Afterlight, players take the role of a spacefarer whose captain has mysteriously vanished. It’s their job to gather a legendary crew and confront dangers across the Pact Worlds to save the galaxy.
There’s not much story info available right now, but players will get to try a demo of the game later this year, which includes some early game content. Unlike the early access version, the demo will let players assume the role of one of the companions, Sterling, and explore the game’s various systems.
