Turkey's National Defense Ministry said on Monday its forces has killed 11 members from the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) attempting to infiltrate northeastern Syrian territories.

"11 YPG members, who were attempting to infiltrate the Operation Peace Spring region with the intention of disturbing the peace and security established there, were neutralized," said the ministry in a statement.

On Sunday, the ministry also revealed in a tweet that three YPG members were killed after they attacked Turkish troops in the Operation Euphrates Shield area.

In another statement the Ministry said two YPG members have surrendered to security forces in southeastern Turkey.

On October 9, Ankara launched the Operation Peace Spring against YPG members from the area east of the Euphrates River in northern Syria to ensure the safe return of Syrian refugees.

Turkey and its loyal forces seized a 30km region deep in the Syrian territories, during the operation which was halted eights days later. This happened as Ankara agreed with the US and Russia on Oct. 17 and 22 on the withdrawal of its forces from the Syrian border and the withdrawal of Kurdish units as well from the Operation Peace spring zone.
