Turkish club 'in talks' with Nottingham Forest over signing star midfielder

Turkish outfit Trabzonspor are 'in talks' to sign Nottingham Forest star Joao Carvalho.

That's according to Turkish outlet Transfer Merkez, who claim Trabzonspor are in talks with the Reds over a possible move for creative midfielder.

The report claims the Turkish club are seeking a loan move with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Carvalho has also been linked with Olympiacos ahead of the January transfer window.

The Portuguese midfielder has made 14 league appearances for Forest so far this season, starting seven and scoring once.

The 22-year-old has also played two more times in the Carabao Cup, scoring once.

Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi was recently asked about possible exits in the winter window, but he wouldn't be drawn on the subject.

“I don’t want to talk about rumours," he said.

“Joao Carvalho, like the others, is very professional. He has quality and he can help us a lot.

“He knows exactly what I am waiting for from him.

“I don’t have any problem with him or any of the players.

"He is a Forest player."

Carvalho is under contract with Forest until 2023 having joined from Benfica for €15m only last year.
