Turkish club could be set to make first move for Nottingham Forest-linked midfielder

Interest in Filip Krovinovic is said to be ramping up, following the end of his Nottingham Forest loan spell.

The Croatian midfielder was a regular starter for the Reds after making the switch to the City Ground in January, on loan from Benfica.

Reports in Portugal have suggested he does not have a future at his parent club, and a return to Forest could be a possibility for next season.

But Chris Hughton’s side are not the only ones being linked with a summer move for Krovinovic.

And the suggestion is Turkish side Alanyaspor are set to be the first to try their luck in the race for the 25-year-old’s signature.

Portuguese newspaper A Bola claim a 1.5m euros bid is being readied for the player, to take him on a permanent basis.

Russian outfit Spartak Moscow are said to have identified Krovinovic as a target, too, following their appointment of a new manager.

Rui Vitoria was the man who signed the midfielder for Benfica, and he is reportedly keen to link up with him again after taking charge at Spartak.

Krovinovic had something of a mixed spell during his time on the banks of the Trent.

Each of his 19 appearances all came in the first XI, but he struggled to help solve the Reds’ goalscoring troubles, finding the back of the net just once.
