After torrential rain washed away the ground beneath it, a four-storey apartment building in the Turkish city of Istanbul collapsed.
As the foundations slid away the building slid into a ditch, debris spreading across a large construction site.
The building in the Sütlüce neighborhood of the Beyoğlu district, took several hours to fall, allowing police and firefighters to evacuate the building and cordon off the surrounding area.
Other nearby buildings were also cleared the Hürriyet Daily News, reported. As a result, there were no casualties.
Spectators, officials and local photographers watched as it slowly met its fate.
The authorities were warned about the hotel construction taking place next to the apartment block, the owner of the block Emin Ertürk said.
Built in 1994, the building did not have the required permits, according to the Beyoğlu district's mayor, Ahmet Misbah Demircan.
